The story

Yasmin Soliman

Yasmin Soliman started from one question: why a scarab, of all things, on the wrist? The answer was never in the shape of the ornament but in what it meant — the scarab pushes the sun over the horizon every morning, so whoever wears one is saying that nothing truly ends.

Shape alone is decoration. Shape with its meaning is an amulet.

Everything since has followed that rule. A piece is made the old way — hand engraving, glazed faience, lapis inlay — and it is never shown without its symbol. Shape alone is decoration; shape with its meaning is what the ancients actually wore.

Every design is drawn from originals held in Egyptian museums, and no piece leaves the bench until its symbol has real grounding in the texts.
